Article 3.
Oritetanga: RTLB work ensure that all mokopuna, regardless of background, achieve equitable outcomes, meaning that every learner receives support necessary to thrive.
Article 4.
Wairuatanga: the work of RTLB is underpinned by Māori world views, tikanga (cultural practices) and mātauranga Māori (indigenous knowledge) .
He Urunga Tū is a culturally responsive framework guiding RTLB professional practice, grounded in tino rangatiratanga (self-determination) for mokopuna, whānau, kaiako, and kura.
As RTLB we acknowledge our role as manuhiri (exceptional guests), invited to support and nurture the mokopuna and their whānau in their learning journey, aspiring to treat all as rangatira (leaders) as though their tipuna (ancestors) walk alongside them.
Maintaining professional and personal integrity fosters trust, which is essential for success within this framework. He Urunga Tū enables RTLB to work effectively, inclusively, and safely, guiding practice that is respectful, professional, and strengthens positive relationships.
Dr Sonja MacFarlane and Chris Graham introduce the Journey to Tino Rangatiratanga tools and discuss how they can be used to support mokopuna wellbeing.
