Rangatiratanga | RTLB Effectiveness
'He kai kei āku ringa' - there is food at the end of my hands. This whakatauki reminds us that we all possess the innate skillset to create success. By drawing on our knowledge, experience, and resources, we positively influence and support those we work with. As RTLB it inspires us in our roles to continually grow and uphold best practice in everything we do.
Mahi Tahi | Collaborative Action
'Kia kotahi te hoe' means let us all row in unison. It signifies the importance of teamwork and collaboration, encouraging us as RTLB to work together towards common goals and draw on collective knowledge, experience and insights while acknowledging the strengths and different perspectives each person brings to the team.
Ako | Learning
'Whaiwhia te kete mātauranga' - fill the basket of knowledge. This whakatauki highlights the importance of always seeking and sharing knowledge. It reminds us that learning is a lifelong journey, and by sharing what we know and learning from each other we help each other grow.
Manaakitanga | Being Involved
'Popoia te kākano kia puāwai' - nurture the seed and it will blossom. This emphasises the importance of the care and attention needed for supporting mokopuna, whānau and kaiako so that they can reach their full potential. It signifies the importance of guiding, encouraging, and providing the necessary resources for their growth and development. Just as a seed needs care to blossom, mokopuna thrive when they receive the attention and support they need from their kaiako.
